2 Moms "camping" contest!

It’s Friday again, and you know what that means? Time for another ‘2 moms’ photo contest!! I’m so glad that I found this, because I enjoy so much trying to find the very perfect picture for the theme. ♥ This week, the 2 moms team has chosen camping, and I thought of the perfect picture!! Again this week, I’m entering my sweet Amelia-mazing, this time at one of our favorite hiking and camping spots. She loves the woods soooo much, and you can see that though I got her to stop for a moment so I could snap the shutter, her eyes are already off on the next adventure….and I wouldn’t have her any other way! ♥

2 Moms "School" contest!

Just for fun this week, I thought I’d try out a photo challenge being run at another blog. The theme there this week is ‘school’ and I have the PERFECT photo to enter, so how could I resist, right? Early in the spring, my girl’s class invited my husband to come in for ‘G’ week and teach the kids a little about a guitar. Needless to say, everyone had a blast, and my husband is now a rockstar on the pre-k set! Here are my two rock stars, doing what they do best! ♥

I ? Babies!!

Baby animals, especially! When I saw that this week at I ♥ faces the challenge would be “Babies”, I was SUPER excited, and I began sifting through the TON of pictures I have of various stages of babyhood. It was tough, but I finally settled on these sweet little baby birds…

Ok, maybe not cute, but you must agree that they are babies in the truest sense of the word…these little birds are about 3 days old in this picture. My little humans and I have been watching since the momma and papa bird built their nest above the light on my mom’s toy shed. Today, these little birds have all left the nest, but less than a month ago, they looked so fragile and teeny-tiny. To see more great ‘baby’ pictures, please click the camera below!

Just playin’ around….

This week’s theme at I ♥ faces is play. This, at least, is something we’re pretty much professionals at around here. We are always making everything more fun with little games and rhymes, and all kinds of other little tricks, but my photo choice this week doesn’t really need to be “more fun”….bubbles are a blast with out anything extra!

Good day, sunshine!

This week at I ♥ faces, the theme is ‘yellow’. I don’t know about you, but when I think ‘yellow’ I think bright, sunshiny days, and lots of happy smiles….with that in mind, my entry this week is one of the best parts of summer; the very first swim. Friday was a beautiful, warm day, and once my mom got home from work, the kids and I made tracks to her house, and most importantly; her pond! Here is my sweet, bright girl, enjoying both the beautiful hot day, and the beautiful cool water.

Newborn Sneak Peek!

Remember a few months ago, when I posted a maternity sneak-peek? Well, that beautiful Momma-to-be had a beautiful, perfect little girl! ♥ Baby B. is just the sweetest thing, and I have to say, I’ve known her father forever and I never, EVER thought that he’d make such a pretty little girl! Here, for your viewing pleasure, are some of the highlights of my newborn shoot with sweet little B. She never slept, but the dark eyes really added to these portraits.

"Whenever I see your smilin’ face…"

“…I have to smile myself.”

It’s I ♥ smiles week this week at I ♥ faces, and when I saw this challenge, I immediately knew who my picture would be of this week. A few weeks ago I literally bumped into my friend Matt and his daughter while I was out taking my 365 pictures for the day. Well, we’d been trying *(unsuccessfully)* for a few weeks at that point to get together so I could shoot his daughter for him. So I seized the opportunity, and we had a great, if short, mini-shoot. This is one of my very favorites out of the bunch; every time I see it, I am just captured by the wistfulness on her face. I love the way it looks like she’s smiling about some little secret….you never know, maybe she’s got the secret to the world in there…

{The Artist} Part II

My last post focused on the ‘studio’ session with Ms. Roberts, now I am going to show you the face behind the art ♥ As you can see in my previous post, Ms. Roberts can create some amazing-ass art! What you may not have noticed, though, is how gorgeous she is herself. Once we were done at her studio, I took Ms. Roberts to Canada Lake both to get to visit for a while longer, and to take advantage of the beautiful day, and amazing natural light and capture her spirit in an easy non-painful way for the girl who detests her picture being taken. I was pleased with the results, and I hope you enjoy them as well!

Ladies and Gentlemen, once again, the beautiful, fabulously talented Ms. Roberts!

{The Artist} Part I

Last Thursday I was fortunate enough to get to collaborate with my friend Ms. Roberts. She is an amazingly talented artist who’s gearing up for a show in early June at the Tiffany Smith Gallery in Johnstown, NY. We had a great time catching up over coffee before heading off to her studio, where I got to see the magic in-progress! Here are the perfect bits from that shoot! (the Outdoor Portrait Session soon to come!)

Ladies and Gentlemen; the Amazing, talented, and all around super-cool chick; Ms. Sarah Roberts!

For her ‘truth’ series, Ms. Roberts asked for honest confessions that were offered by patrons from her previous shows…

My favorite piece from her ‘the truth’ series

The fabulous Ms. Roberts, hard at work!

A candid portrait of Ms. Roberts as she steps back to study her work.

A profile portrait of the artist at work.

One of my favorite captures; the paint brushes in her hair are perfect!

By this point, I like to think she forgot about the camera and was totally lost in the creation.

Something to say on Sunday…

So, I know, I completely suck. I haven’t put a single picture up since Thursday. Never fear, I took them, I just have not had the energy to sit down and do anything with them. Hell, I’m still working on editing my Thursday session with “The Artist”; Ms. Roberts. In fact, that will most likely be the next post here in my blog; my portrait session with an amazing artist as she works hard on her newest series of paintings: “The truth will set you free” (Which will be showing in June at the amazing Tiffany Smith Gallery in Johnstown, NY) Ahem, anyway, I digress….I just basically wanted to make a little note here that I have not forgotten about any of my 365’s, I’m just feeling lazy….weekends are tough for me to have the time for editing, but I figure if I only work at a real job 3 days a week, I should be allowed to slack here a little….right? Right. Glad we agree.
