{Pretty Miss Maizy}

Tonight I went over to the home of one of my upcoming brides to see/take pictures of her dress and shoes because I will be meeting them at the church next weekend. While I was there, I caught some gorgeous pictures of her beautiful daughter, Miss Maizy. *(Absolutely ♥ the name too!!)* Here are the best of the best. I can’t wait to have a chance to shoot this little sweetheart all dressed up. ♥

LOVE that shot!

Ok, so I was just cruising around on my facebook page, procrastinating the writing of my bio section for this site, (I know, I know, bad, bad bad!) and I came across a post from Love your Shot. This week the guest judges are Amy and Angie from I <3 faces (another site I frequent) and I just couldn't resist entering! The rules were that it had to be a picture taken in Sept., we had to add their button, (ahem.)

and that the photo have at least one face in it.

Sweet little Toes

My curious little Toes trying to figure out where the drips were coming from!

When I shot this the other day, it was barely sprinkling….but I’m a big chicken-baby about taking my camera out in the rain. I never even had to step off the porch to catch this super-cute moment that is just SO my boy; always trying to figure out the ‘why’ of it all. ♥

I processed this image with ‘bright light’ from Pretty Presets from Lightroom, and viola! Done!

{Sweet Baby D.}

This past week on my facebook page (which can be found here ) I offered a few free sessions; to single mom’s, and cancer survivors, and also to our brothers and sisters in the Army (and their families). This adventurous momma took me up on my ‘single mom’ session immediately, and I so enjoyed the chance to capture her and her sweet boy. The love they share is apparent in every gesture and word, and it was a joy to be able to shoot that.

So…..

I’m getting there, finally! Please be patient with me as my un-technical ass tries to work through this whole transferring my blog to word press, and getting my site up and going here. Soon there will be a store, and all kinds of galleries, and all kinds of other cool stuff around here….including the sneak peeks of my most recent sessions (no more showing it all off on Facebook!!) Anyway…..I just wanted to stop with the frantic editing-and-reading for a minute to say please hang on tight, we may experience some turbulence as I try to figure this shit out.

Thank you very much.

As you were.

"I wear my sunglasses at night…"

Ok, not really. I do, however, love to enter contests over at I ♥ faces. This week, the theme is “I’ve got to wear shades”, and the minute I saw that, I knew *exactly* what picture I would be entering!! About a month or so ago, my good friend Matt and I went out for my usual every-day picture taking expedition. While we were out, we found the coolest bridge. My friend, being the great model that he is, immediately scaled said bridge and let me shoot till my heart was content. (I have the greatest friends!!) Here is my favorite capture from that shoot. To me, this photo says “I’m a real man-kinda-man. I eat raw steaks, and shave with broken glass, and do…..all kinds of other man stuff.” (yeah, that’s all I’ve got; I’m totally a little-sissy-girl.)

Happy 4th of July!

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

Three Whole Years!

Photobucket

It’s hard to believe that three years ago, at just about this time, I was leaving my first born little human with my momma to head off to the hospital for a non-stress test….

Photobucket

I didn’t really think anything of it, and I was sure that I’d be home in no time without a baby. Instead, an hour later I had to call my mom and tell her and the big-sister-to-be the exciting news; we were having a baby TODAY!!! They took me off to a delivery room, where they hooked me up to a monitor, and some pitocin (though I swore there would be no drugs involved…I did manage to do this whole labor thing for a second time with NO PAIN MEDS!)

Photobucket

Thomas Lennon entered the world at 1:21 pm on June 30th. Amelia-mazing was the first person to get to hold this new little life, and the look on her face when she saw him was so full of wonder that I could barely hold all the joy that filled my heart. From that day on, she has been his champion, and he hers. Exactly as it should be.

Photobucket

We’ve made it through three whole years with him now, and I am so proud to say that he is a truly thoughtful, kind, and loving little man. He loves to play the drums, and is more like his daddy than I can say ( ♥ ). They share a love for trying to see how things work, and taking them apart only to find they have no idea how to put said object back together. (heheehe) His joy for seeing, and doing, and trying is contagious, and his laughter can fill a room.

Photobucket

With a love for punk rock music, and scooby doo, little Thomas-toes has truly made our family complete. He was the missing piece of our puzzle, and I am truly blessed to have such an amazing son. ♥

Happy Birthday, Thomas Lennon. I love you more than I could say….may you have many more happy years filled with Rancid, and digging in the dirt, and trying to figure out the ‘why’ of it all! ♥

i love you,
Momma

2 Moms "waterfront" contest!

So, once again, it’s time for a ‘2 Mom’s’ challenge!! This week’s theme is ‘waterfront’ and the minute I saw this theme, I knew which picture I would enter; my cousin Meggie during a recent shoot we did near the lake. I am a huge sucker for black and white shots with just a little punch of color, and this photo lended itself perfectly to that sort of photo.

? Sweet Isaac; 7 months. ?

A little bit of heaven

drifted down from above.

A handful of happiness,

a heart full of love.

The mystery of life,

so sacred and sweet

the giver of joy

So deep and complete.

Precious and priceless,

So lovable, too.

The world’s sweetest miracle,

Baby boy, is you.

I &hearts Faces; Celebrating Teens!

This week over at I ♥ faces the theme revolves around teenagers….The minute I saw this, I knew EXACTLY what photo I was going to enter. A few months ago I was looking for a teenage model; one who wasn’t a cookie cutter giggly, bubbly teenager, and boy did I find that in Emmy! My boss’s daughter is smart, and pretty, and interesting, and a billion other thing, but one thing Emmy is not is typical. She was willing to give anything a shot, and this perticular shot was captured with only a little bit of danger. She climbed a fire escape on an abandoned building for me!

I’m thinking that in a few weeks when it’s teens only week, I can get Emmy out to shoot with me and see what SHE comes up with when I hand her a dslr. ♥ To see more amazing teens head over to I ♥ faces or just click the button below!
